Why You Need A Weed Grinder In Your Life

Every cannabis enthusiast needs a proper weed grinder. A grinder is a smoking tool that you can use to break sticky nugs into small pieces of herb for smoother-hitting joints and bowls. While there are some ways to cut up herb, weed grinders definitely speed up this process, and can even offer extra perks, such as kief catchers.

In this post, we will discuss why a good-quality herb grinder is a must-have in your smoking kit.

Let’s get started!

Why a Weed Grinder Is Your Smoking Best Friend

If you’re asking, “why do I need to grind weed in the first place?” Well, we can discuss several reasons.

It’s easy to oversee the importance of a weed grinder, especially if you’re used to just crumbling up your nugs until they turn into little bits that are good enough to smoke. However, this careless process can impair your smoking session, as uncrushed stems or chunks can result in uneven burns when smoking a joint. Also called in stoner lingo as “canoeing,” this problem not only wastes perfectly good weed but can also leave an unsavoury experience for you and your smoking buddies.

Proper preparation, or using a weed grinder, can prevent this problem. If you’re new to the world of cannabis and haven’t used a weed grinder before, here is a step-by-step guide on how to properly use one.

How to Use a Weed Grinder: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Use your fingers, or a small scissor, to break off bigger buds. Take off the top lid of the weed grinder and place the cut-up pieces in between the weed grinder’s teeth. Don’t put anything in the centre, as this is where the grinder’s magnet turns around.

Step 2: Lock in the top lid, and twist left and right about 10 times. Check if all the weed has fallen through the holes. Loosen up sticky pieces by removing the top and tapping it against the side of the weed grinder.

Step 3: Unscrew the bottom chamber of the weed grinder to uncover all of your freshly ground weed. Load the fresh herb into your bowl, pipe, joint, or blunt. Smoke up and enjoy!

If Your Weed Grinder Has a Kief Catcher…

Then you’re in luck! Some weed grinders in the market, like this 5-piece 56mm Metal Weed Grinder by Inhalnation, have special screen chambers at the bottom specifically designed to catch kief.

Kief is the term used for accumulated trichomes collected from cannabis flowers. It can be sprinkled on top of blunts, joints, and bowls, and can also be infused into edibles. When pressed, it turns into hash, which is also a cannabis product that bears high demand in the market.

Once you’ve finished collecting your freshly ground cannabis, it’s time to check how much kief you gathered in the bottom chamber of your weed grinder. You can scrape some of the kief out with a piece of paper, or a scraping tool.

Sprinkle some of your self-gathered kief onto your bowl or joint to increase the potency for a more out-of-this-world high!
