If you’ve ever used cannabis to fuel your artistic side—you’d be ecstatic to know that you can actually get really creative with your stash of cannabis stems and produce some pretty cool things.
There’s no doubt about it that every component of a cannabis plant is incredibly useful—so remember to think twice before you toss out any “unfavourable” parts!
Here at True North Cannabis Co., we’re breaking down the four most creative ways to use your weed stems.
What To Do With Weed Stems:
The next time you decide to have some high tea, know that your cannabis stems will definitely come in handy. It’s a creative way to enjoy tea time! This recipe is elevated with the goodness of chamomile to lend a hand to that incredibly relaxing feeling.
Materials needed:
Step 1: If you want to activate the cannabinoids of your weed stems and turn them into an enhanced and more potent form, then don’t forget to decarboxylate them! Learning how to do this will open a world of opportunity when cooking with cannabis as well.
Step 2: Put the ingredients in your tea infuser to avoid over-extraction and keep it soaked in hot water for approximately 10 minutes.
Step 3: Remove the infuser and enjoy your cup of tea!
Take your love for Mother Earth to a whole new level by creating your own paper. Not only is this a fantastic way to recycle scrap paper and your weed stems, but it also has huge potential to become a brand new, exciting hobby for you.
If this sounds like a perfect way for you to use your weed stems, then simply follow these steps to get started!
Materials needed:
Step 1: Gather your weed stems and grind them.
Step 2: Get your scrap paper and the ground weed stems. Keep them soaked in water overnight.
Step 3: By the next day, the soaked stems and scrap paper are ready to be put into the blender. Keep it running until the mixture has been fully blended.
Step 4: Mix a handful of the blended pulp into the container with water (a handful is usually enough to make three to five sheets). Then, use the mould and deckle to catch the pulp and strain the water.
Step 5: Transfer the flat sheet of pulp onto the cloth sheet and use the sponge to absorb any excess water.
Step 6: Hang the cloth sheet with the transferred paper to dry with drying pins on a clothes rack.
Step 7: After they’ve been left to dry overnight, the paper is finally ready to be peeled off from the cloth. Enjoy using your cannabis-infused paper!
Hempwick is having its moment in the spotlight as a more natural substitute for matches and lighters. Luckily, you can make hempwick out of your cannabis stems. Follow these steps:
Materials needed:
Step 1: Strip the longest available weed stems with a blade until you end up with plenty of fibre strings.
Step 2: Twist the fibres together until it forms a short rope.
Step 3: Dip the weed stem rope in beeswax and allow it to dry for a few hours before lighting it.
Because of cannabis’ anti-inflammatory properties, many people are starting to realize it might just deserve a spot in their skincare regimen.
And what could possibly be more fun than creating your own skincare products? Here’s how to make a cannabis-infused topical:
Materials needed:
Step 1: Grind your chopped weed stems using cannabis grinder.
Step 2: Decarboxylate the ground stems in an oven preheated to 110°C for 45 minutes.
Step 3: Set your stove on low heat and place the cooking pot filled with coconut oil on it.
Step 4: After a few minutes, pour the ground stems into the pot and allow it to simmer for about three to four hours.
Step 5: Next, it’s time to add your special skincare ingredients into the mix, such as almond oil, shea butter, beeswax, or aloe vera gel.
Step 6: After a few minutes—when the ingredients have mixed well—remove the pot from the stove and allow it to cool down.
Step 7: Once the mixture’s temperature has gone down, pour it through the cheesecloth and into your skincare product storage container.
Now you know exactly how to put your cannabis stems to good use! Which project will you be working on first?
